Customer projects

IoT in the bicycle industry
In one project, I supported a leading German bicycle manufacturer as a stream manager. A bicycle with IoT technology was to be offered for the first time in order to realize added value via an app. The project was particularly exciting, as a wide variety of stakeholders were involved in the finalization under time pressure in the final phase before the market launch. A great project.
Process consulting automotive industry
In one project, I supported the various departments as a moderator in bringing together electronics, mechanics and software to define a common maturity level. Bringing these heterogeneous teams together is a real challenge in many companies.
Blended learning various industries
In some projects, I was responsible for the preparation of process knowledge. The projects were not just about creating the materials, but also about selecting and structuring them professionally in advance. This is where I can make good use of my many years of interdisciplinary experience.
Procurement consulting
In addition to IT consulting projects, I have also provided support in tendering projects, where the requirements are translated into a technical specification in accordance with applicable regulations. Here too, lawyers, business people and technicians come together with their conflicting ideas to create a joint tender document.
Process consulting
I advise my customers on the optimization of processes in their respective environments. In addition to years of experience in larger companies, my own model company with the SMaker3D brand also helps.
Software development
Based on SharePoint, Drupal, ezPublish, Strapi, Directus and many other CMS or professional ERP platforms, I use my own developments to close the gaps towards a system network for a better information architecture. In addition to leading platforms, I use a partner development called kenaflow, an enterprise automation engine developed in collaboration with kenaro GmbH.
Media production
At uniforx, I worked with a team to develop a comprehensive solution and implement processes for media production. Even though the product could not be placed on the market during Corona, it showed the very broad technical scope that we were able to cover here. I offered this service for several years.

Focal points

System/product development
The madness probably began in 1998 with the digitization of my model railroad, where I first combined electronics, mechanics and software into a functioning system. A lot has happened since then, but the first impression is always formative.
Information architecture
I can't help but think about how, when and where information needs to be available in the process so that processes run smoothly. Illness or passion? For many, this is boring and I enjoy it.
Consulting/Mentoring
Sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas with people is always an enriching experience. My youngest clients are my sons ;-) as content creators and craftsmen. It's always nice to see how generations and expertise benefit from each other in an open exchange.
System administration
At uniforx, I ensure the operation of servers and services in order to provide the necessary resources for internal and external applications. Monitoring helps to ensure a high level of service.
Production/Logistics
For the SMaker3D brand, I run an on-demand production consisting of lasers, 2/3D printers, CNC milling machines and other machines. The balancing act is particularly appealing to me as a mental exercise, as it ranges from simple logistics tasks to more complex productions or developments.
Trainer
Since 2002, I have been able to work as a technical trainer in various areas - mostly for information systems - and thus pass on my knowledge.
Robotics
For media production, I used a UR5 as a camera robot and integrated it into the processes in the studio. The challenge is a good combination of electronics, mechanics and software in harmony with the use cases or production processes, as well as a simple interface for the user.
I don't want to highlight the areas of AI or the cloud separately, as I have worked experimentally or productively with innovative technologies in every area of my work. My basic principle here is always to put the pieces together to create a solution that ultimately delivers a stable benefit.

Books

...that I would like to write.

The idea for this book came to me in 2012. It was the time when I became a father and was thinking about "social networks". As usual, it's not just about the tech companies, but about something that goes beyond that.

In 2018, the idea for my first hybrid book matured. A mixture of guide, theoretical knowledge, video tutorial and notebook in an environment in which I was able to gain years of experience and where many projects still fail due to minor details.

I have been collecting "insights" in my projects from time to time since 2002. Sometimes it's simple things that make the difference between a project failing or not. So how about a book that summarizes these things?

The 2020 coronavirus pandemic and its global, economic and social consequences were tough. It's the year I went to market with uniforx to learn a lot about myself. This book is my exit strategy and reflection. And unfortunately, you can now read it here: Article
